Following The Sound

I humbly approach
your hallowed realm
with bowed head
and earnest intent
in gratitude for
all that has been entrusted
to my hand
shaping images into sounds
and symbols into words
flowing through the pen
following the sound
of an inner voice
speaking softly within
tracing a way
unsure and unaware
of what is to come
from the voice
that knows my name
